Hola! Buenas Dias!
Since our rest day we've done 2 days of 20km,fairly slowly so I can ease off the tendenitis which is still playing up, but getting better. Yesterday we got to Logrono and decided to make use of the post office to send some things home - we manged to make our rucksacks 2kg lighter!! (Mum and Dad, there is a parcel on its way to you- open it because there is a postcard in there for you).
We're now in the county of La Rioja, most of the day we spent walking through vineyards and in the evenings we have been sampling their fruits in liquid form! most places have a pilgrim menu for 10euros and you get a 3course meal with bread and wine included - its great!
The weather is gorgeous, but too hot for walking past 1pm, which means early starts and this morning I was woken up at 4.30am by the first pilgrims leaving! Yesterday it was 40*c!! But today was cooler with a breeze and a few clouds. We're getting some impressive tan lines from the boots and socks!
Hope all is well back in England,
Helen and Mary
:-)
Bonjourno, how far have thee travelled thus far? I suppose I could count up km from your posts but that's too much like hard work and since your already doing lots of hard work with the walking an all a little more won't hurt. The temperature has pulled itself up to 27 here, with enviable temperatures such as this I bet you wish you were back here enjoying it? Hope all is well
ReplyDeletewell that was written by David in my name. We have a weather change at the moment and it is warm and dry but we are advised that it will not last long! Still it may dry up the place of our pilgrimage which we are hoping to travel to this coming weekend. God bless you on your way. Love Mum
ReplyDeleteHey Mum and Dave!
ReplyDeleteI let Mary do the maths as she's the brains part of the team and she tells me that the grand total thus far is 290km! Woop woop!
Hope the good weather sticks around for your pilgrimage, Mum, rain is v noisy in a caravan! Dave, I don't think the weather will entice us home but a good cuppa brew might do the trick. The best we got was a few days ago when a couple from Nottingham shared some of their tea bags with us, but black tea made in the cup just isn't the same.
Lots of love xx
